Who We Are

CovEducation (or “CovEd”) is a community of undergraduates, postgraduates, students and educators from colleges and universities across the U.S. who are interested in supporting K-12 students in light of the pandemic. We are a warm, volunteer-based community of over 6,000 volunteers from 450+ institutions, and have served 5,700+ mentees since March 2020. CovEd began when a group of Harvard/M.I.T. students, inspired by community efforts to support low-income students leaving campus, circulated a form inviting peers to volunteer as mentors for K-12 students. Following an exponential increase in sign-ups within a week of our launch, we created a web-app featuring free educational resources, as well as a mentor-mentee pairing platform based on subject needs, time zones, and career interests.

What We Do

CovEd provides free learning resources to students faced with financial, familial, or other difficulties that impact their learning experience. This program is available to all K-12 students in the U.S., focusing on those with limited access to resources for continued learning. From tutoring to free educational resources, CovEd strives to supplement the loss of learning opportunities during the COVID19 Pandemic and beyond. If you are interested in supporting K-12 students, please register as a mentor here: bit.ly/coved-mentor-signup
