Summary: Book Club leaders will work with one of three groups based on students’ grade level (Group 1: Kindergarten and 1st; Group 2: 2nd and 3rd; Group 3: 4th and 5th). Once a week the Club leader will select a story/stories to present in storytelling sessions, engaging the students and asking them questions that will help them with their reading and comprehension skills. In-person is preferred, but virtual volunteering can be possible.
Requirements: Can commit to Tuesdays 2:15pm - 4:15pm (preferably for the full school year; college students should commit to a minimum of a semester) Experience or interest in working with school age children and helping with reading is a plus.
