BTU-Pilot is a K-8 teacher lead school that seeks to educate students to high standards and help them reach their educational potential and become capable, caring, engaged citizens. We aim to provide all students with a rigorous and wide-ranging liberal arts education in an inclusive, democratic, nurturing and safe environment that welcomes families and capitalizes on the expertise of excellent teachers. We are working on closing the Achievement Gap for our middle school students. Academic Tutoring, one to one tutoring for students struggling with Reading, Writing, Math, and Organization is an essential part of our students development. A strong academic foundation and ability to self direct the organization of their materials and learning will set students up for a successful academic and professional career. Tutoring takes place after school from 3pm to 4:45pm Mon - Thurs. Partners will provide a consistent schedule that fits their availability; they will be assigned to one or two students to work on a subject they are comfortable with.
