Description

Securing Safe Food (SSF) is on a mission to address the pressing challenges of food insecurity, particularly for individuals with food allergies. Born out of the pandemic, SSF has transformed from a student-led grassroots effort into a national organization partnering with food pantries across the U.S. Our focus goes beyond medical dietary restrictions, recognizing the importance of culturally relevant allergen-friendly choices. By providing diverse, nutritionally balanced alternatives, we're reshaping the landscape of food accessibility and security. Join us in prioritizing safe and healthy food options for all communities.

SSF operates as a fully remote nonprofit. We are seeking virtual volunteers with a passion or evolving interests in food equity and security, food justice, and specialty diets at the intersection of allergies, sustainability, and culturally responsive options. Open volunteer positions involve food pantry coordinating, community and onboarding outreach, partnerships, accounting, grant writing, etc. Expansion to the Greater Boston area is ongoing in response to patient needs at Boston Children’s Hospital allergy clinics.
